A Day At The Dog Beach!

All week Rob and I had talked about taking the girls to the dog beach at Fort De Soto Park this weekend.  We had taken Charlotte to the dog beach there before, and like it, but the drive to Fort De Soto is fairly long.  So I found a dog beach at Honeymoon Island State Park which is only a 10 minute drive from us.

Our Saturday started out like this...

After getting all the lazy bones out of bed and spending most of the afternoon hanging around the house, we packed up the car and began our 10 minute journey to the beach...

At first the girls sat quietly in the backseat.

Chelsea enjoyed sight seeing

While Charlotte made her way into Daddy's lap

When Chelsea looked back, Charlotte was gone...

When Chelsea realized she was in the front seat
then she wanted to know what all this front seat fuss was about.

So before we knew it she had climbed onto the middle partition
where the drink holders are and was sitting in between us on it, looking out the front window.

When we arrived at the beach both girls were eager to get out and explore.   Of course, I was a nervous wreck because of the signs posted all over saying "Beware of Rattlesnakes".    If it isn't a gator, it's a snake.  Ugh!

We loved the beach at Honeymoon Island State Park!   The water was nice and warm and the sand bars allowed the dogs to walk in the water that was only up to their bellies.   It was a pretty place and we'll definitely be going back.

Here are the girls getting acclimated to the water:

Finally back in the car...
"That was fun guys, can we do it again next weekend?" :)

Now that we are home the girls are exhausted and sleeping like babies, but all-in-all it was a fun day for all 4 of us.
